Carl Deeley

Carl Deeley
Managing Director, TBM Australia

A former Toyota Motor Corp. manager, Carl Deeley is a specialist in lean value chain design and implementation with over 20 years experience in manufacturing. Originally from the UK, Carl has worked with companies across Europe, the US, and Asia. He has undergone extensive training in lean leadership at the Toyota training center in Nishin, Japan.

Carl holds a degree in mechanical and production engineering from Walsall College of Technology in Birmingham, UK, and has been a trusted advisor to companies such as TRW, Mars, McCain Foods, JCB, Alstom, Tracker Marine Group, and Hubbell Inc.

After living in the US for eight years Carl moved to Melbourne with his wife and two children to support TBM Australia and Asia Pacific clients.


Martial Durin

Martial Durin
Managing Director, TBM China

As managing director of TBM China, Martial Durin brings more than 23 years of lean experience to his clients. A manufacturing engineer with an extensive background in global manufacturing and business process improvements, Martial has helped companies in Europe, China, Africa and the Middle East transform their businesses using lean. He is also valued for his excellent team building skills.

Martial was trained in the principles of the Toyota Production System directly by Shigeo Shingo and then Yoshiki Iwata.

Prior to joining TBM, Martial was the European Logistics and Manufacturing System Manager for Trane (an American Standard company). During his 22-year career at the company, he held a variety of management positions. As a consultant, Martial led lean implementations at Peugeot Cycles, Caterpillar Services and Cristalleries de Baccarat. While at TBM, he has been a trusted advisor for companies such as Mattel Toys, Nike Apparel, Freescale semiconductors.

Martial accomplished undergraduate work at ENP University in Epinal and received a Master’s degree in Manufacturing from LTE University. Martial taught the Toyota Production System at university level in France and is certified in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) from APICS USA.


Richard Holland

Richard Holland
Managing Director, TBM UK and TBM India

A lean practitioner since 1995 and a Six Sigma Black Belt, Richard Holland comes to TBM with more than 10 years in discrete manufacturing in the automotive, aerospace, and consumer goods industries. He brings expertise in supply chain management—in both inbound and outbound distribution channels—as well as freight management, machining, and assembly.

Prior to joining TBM, Richard was supply chain director and then divisional vice president of operations at Whirlpool’s Amana Refrigeration plant, with nearly $1 billion in sales.

Before moving to the U.S. and joining Amana, Richard worked for Perkins Diesel Engines in Peterborough, U.K., where he held the site improvement position, working with Shingijutsu to implement lean throughout the facility. He then moved on to become production manager at Perkins’ large engine plant. When Perkins became part of LucasVarity, Richard moved to Lucas Aerospace where he led the LeanSigma® improvement team for 27 Lucas sites worldwide, and participated in moving plants in France and the design of new facilities in upstate New York.

Richard has a Bachelor of Science degree in sports science, a diploma in training management, and speaks some French.


Michael Latuga

Mike Latuga
Managing Director, TBM Mexico

A former plant manager with international experience, Michael Latuga has more than two decades of experience in business and manufacturing.

Michael developed an expertise in turning around troubled plants throughout the world during his 22-year career with United Technologies/Carrier. He also has broad experience in supply chain management, operations, strategy and implementing continuous improvement.

Michael speaks fluent Spanish and has worked extensively in Latin America, Europe, and Asia as an internal consultant. He taught lean methodologies to United Technologies/Carrier executives worldwide before joining TBM West.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Economics from the State University of New York, and has done MBA graduate work at Southern Methodist University.


Gary Hoover

Gary Hoover
Managing Director, TBM Europe

A leader with broad experience, Gary Hoover is head of TBM's Consulting Practice in Europe.

Gary has lead some of TBM's largest global transformations including Nike Apparel's supplier development program. The program involves 25 companies in 15 countries. These companies represent 70 percent of Nike's worldwide apparel business. Gary has also led multiple site transformations with Hubbell and Saint Gobain.  In addition, he regularly works with numerous private equity clients and their portfolio companies.

Gary came to TBM in 2002 from Intel Corporation. His roles at Intel ranged from Production Manager at Fab 11 in New Mexico to Capacity Planning Manager for all CPU products.

Prior to his work at Intel, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ATR Systems, a provider of biometric and time and attendance equipment. Gary was also an officer in the U.S. Army.

Gary earned an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University.


Washington Kusabara

 

Washington Kusabara
Team Leader, TBM Brazil

With over 20 years of experience consulting and managing in the manufacturing industry, Washington Kusabara has a proven track record of helping his stable of clients worldwide leverage LeanSigma to achieve growth in sales and earnings. Washington has worked with companies in the auto parts, textile, electrical, foods, fertilizer, foundry and car assembly industries.

Prior to joining TBM, Washington served as a Manufacturing Director at Mann+Hummel Brazil Ltda Indaiatuba/SP, where he facilitated a lean transformation and oversaw the improvement of quality and production processes at the auto parts plant. He also served a Plant Manager at Tenneco Automotive Brazil; Embrasa and Tupy Fios e Linhas Ltda. Washington started his professional career as a Production Manager at Coats & Viyella Brazil.

Washington holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering/Textile from Faculdade de Engenharia Industrial (FEI), Safety Engineering from Fundacentro and FEI, and also completed educational studies in Management and Implementation and Production Administration as Fundacao Getulio Vargas (FGV). He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and English.
