Anand Sharma Co-founder of TBM Consulting Group, Inc. Anand Sharma has served as president and CEO since its beginning in 1991. In this capacity he has worked with some of the leading businesses around the globe helping them achieve top line and bottom line growth faster than their industry by doing more with less. He also made major contributions to Lean Thinking: by James P. Womack and Daniel T. Jones (Free Press 1996). Anand is author of The Perfect Engine: How to Win in the New Demand Economy by Building to Order With Fewer Resources (Free Press, 2001), and co-author of The Antidote: How to Transform your business for Extreme Challenges of the 21st Century (Managing Times Press 2006) He was named a Hero of U.S. Manufacturing in 2001 by Fortune magazine and was awarded the 2002 Donald Burnham Manufacturing Management Award by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and was a monthly columnist for The Manufacturer, where he commented on business and economic trends. National media regularly seek his opinions on business and the new economy and he is a frequent speaker at gatherings such as the AME Annual Conference, Shingo Conference and Industry Week conferences. In 2010 Anand joined the Board of Vermeer Corporation based in Pella, Iowa and also serves on their Governance Committee. Starting January 2012 he has accepted the invitation to Join the Board of WIKA Alexander Wiegand SE & Co. KG based in Klinginberg, Germany. Prior to founding TBM Anand had more than 20 years of experience within the manufacturing industry and held a number of line and staff positions with American Standard, Inc. before becoming vice president of operations for one of its leading operating divisions. Immediately prior to establishing TBM Consulting Group, he was executive vice president at Productivity Inc. and headed the firm’s consulting and training practices. He has a Masters degree in Business Administration from Boston University and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Roorkree University in India. His education also includes Advanced Management studies at The Wharton School of Management plus attending many of the management seminars conducted by some of the leading thinkers of our time. |

Bob Dean Bob Dean is a co-founder of TBM Consulting Group, Inc. and vice president of administration and product development, a role that keeps him on the leading edge of trends in business improvement. Bob has been instrumental in the incorporation of lean business techniques and Six Sigma – creating LeanSigma – and in taking the improvement tools that traditionally belonged to manufacturing and applying them to service industries. Bob is a frequent contributor to the Managing Times quarterly journal where he writes on developments in lean philosophies and, most recently, he has been helping companies integrate their value chains beyond manufacturing. For nearly 20 years, Bob has been consulting with companies from the manufacturing and service sectors worldwide such as Allied Signal, Ames True Temper and Pella Corporation. He continues to have close ties with the Japanese team responsible for the legendary Toyota Production System, and has worked extensively with the core group of men who worked under Taichii Ohno, recognized as the father of just in time. Bob is a graduate of Clarkson University with a degree in Engineering. |

William A. Schwartz Prior to joining TPG in 2011, Mr. Schwartz was EVP, TBM Consulting Group from 1991 to 2011 responsible for North American Consulting and leading lean transformations for global clients including Dell Computer, Carlisle Companies, MEMC, Simmons and Freescale Semiconductor. Bill worked across a variety of industries including Consumer Products, Construction Materials, Industrial Products, Food & Beverage, Medical Device and Biotech, helping companies improve manufacturing operations, supply chain performance and strategy implementation. During his tenure with TBM, he founded and was President of TBM Holdings sponsoring the acquisition of three companies in the Material Handling industry. Formerly, Bill was with Howell Management Corporation and was Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Medallic Art Company. He started his career with IBM Corporation. Bill is a member of the Operating Group at TPG Growth focusing on the Industrial Sector. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Colgate University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business, New York University. |

Dan Sullivan Dan Sullivan is Executive Vice President and Partner of TBM Consulting Group, Inc. He serves on the TBM Board of Directors and leads the firm’s North American consulting operations. He joined TBM as a team leader and helped the company expand operations throughout North America and into Mexico and Brazil. Dan joined TBM in 1994 and became a partner in 2000. Prior to joining TBM, Dan served as Director of Body Engineering at Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corporation. During his tenure at Nissan, he held several progressively responsible roles in engineering and operations. Dan is considered to a subject matter in the Toyota Production System. In fact, he studied lean with the Japanese and established Nissan’s shop floor improvement system called Nissan Gemba Kanri in the late 1980s. He is recognized and often requested by clients for his deep experience in establishing leadership and management systems that support sustainable high performance. He is adept at motivating teams and has remained a trusted advisor to many executives including a 17-year relationship with Pella Corporation. Most recently, Dan is working directly with senior leaders at Pactiv Corporation, Carlisle Companies and John Deere to implement lean business systems, drive cultural change, and align continuous improvement initiatives to key strategic objectives. He helps clients develop, implement and perfect their management process with Hoshin Kanri (Strategy Deployment / Policy Deployment) to achieve breakthrough objectives. Dan has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. |
